Navy, in partnership with government agencies, coordinates the implementation of the Ocean Monitoring System. Its mission is to monitor and control areas of Brazilian responsibility and strategic interest to contribute to the capacity of responding promptly to any threat, emergency, environmental disaster, or illegal activity. The system will integrate a network of terrestrial and maritime sensors (humans and things), command and control centers, environmental monitoring, and information fusion from several collaborative marine monitoring systems.
